Controlled and Expeditious Synthesis of Epoxidized Natural Rubber and Stable Latex Modulated by Cationic Surfactants

This study chooses octadecyl trimethyl ammonium chloride (OTAC) as the surfactant to produce epoxidized natural rubber by in situ method. The product can be synthesized at higher dry rubber content and temperature rapidly than OP-10 can. Therefore, the product has a higher reaction rate and epoxidation degree. Meanwhile, the molecular structure of OTAC remains intact during synthesizing, affording the latex stable performance.
