In this paper, a series of biobased ionic conductors based on poly(thioctic esters) (PolyTEs) are developed through the lithium salt-catalyzed thermal polymerization of thioctic esters (TE). Lithium salts simultaneously act as TE polymerization catalysts and conductive components in the resulting ionic conductors. The applications of synthesized ionic conductors as ionic sensors and thermoelectrics are further demonstrated.
